Total Joint
Joints are involved in almost every activity. Walking, bending, and turning all require the joints of the hip and knee. Normal healthy joints allow for these movements to occur easily and without pain. However, when joints become diseased or injured the pain that results can become so severe that normal movement becomes impossible.
The hip joint can be damaged by arthritis, a fracture or other conditions. When damaged, activities such as walking and getting in and out of a chair become painful and difficult.
If medical intervention such as medications, activity modification, or walking aids such as a cane are not helpful, a knee or hip replacement surgery should be considered. This surgery can relieve pain and help you to return to normal everyday activities.
